Hospice of Southwest Georgia
Gifts designated for Hospice of Southwest Georgia serve as an important financial resource to help patients and families cope with end of life care. When a member of your family is facing a life limiting illness, hospice can help patients and families by providing the support they need. With the help of generous donors, the Foundation awards funding to Hospice of Southwest Georgia for a variety of programs including Camp HEAL, Pet Therapy, special memorial services, and more.
Camp HEAL (Healing and Encouragement After Loss) is an annual day camp for children between the ages of 6-17 who are dealing with the death of a loved one. The loss of a loved one can be especially difficult for children, and Camp HEAL offers educational discussions on grief and bereavement, an informal memorial service, horseback riding, crafts, and more. These activities allow the participants to learn more about grief while receiving bereavement support from trained professionals and Hospice volunteers in a safe environment.
The Foundation plays a critical role in helping make sure hospice patients and their families are ensured personal and compassionate palliative care.
