A Pink Affair

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and Archbold is taking full advantage of the opportunity to help spread awareness and have a little fun in the process. On Thursday, October 26th the Thomasville Center for the Arts hosted the sixth annual Pink Affair, a fashion show featuring cancer survivors as models.

All of the proceeds from this year’s event once again benefited the needs of those cancer patients who lack the financial ability to afford the bare necessities needed during their treatment program. The Oncology Resource Center Fund provides a source of support for everyday luxuries that many take for granted, such as: wigs, prosthetics or compressions sleeves that play a huge role in the treatment and recovery process.

A silent auction featuring art by cancer survivors was held, and a celebration honoring the models followed the fashion show with food and live music from Thomasville band Bleu Burden.

Corporate and individual sponsorship opportunities are also available for the Pink Affair. For more information on sponsorships, contact the Archbold Foundation at (229) 228-2924.
